Bassist leaves Damascus Dawn
Overland Park, KS--January 26, 2009--Co-founder and bassist Lannae Mahan has
announced her departure from Contemporary Christian band Damascus Dawn, citing personal reasons. In a statement issued January 26, 2009, lead singer Michelle Scott Redmon said, "The other members would like to make clear that we are in full support of her and that her departure was not due to any unrest within the band. We understand her reasons for stepping out, and we would just like to say that we love her and we will miss her."
There is no word at this time whether or not her husband John will also be leaving the band.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -
Damascus Dawn Wins Best Rock Award
Overland Park, KS, April 28, 2008––Contemporary Christian band Damascus Dawn took home the award for King Cat Christian Music’s ‘Best Rock Artist’
at the Annual KCCM Awards ceremony held at the Bell Cultural Center on Saturday, April 26. The KCCM Awards serve to recognize Christian artists in
a variety of award categories including Artist of the Year (in each music genre), Song of the Year, and Group of the Year.
In addition to the Rock category, Damascus Dawn was also nominated for Best Contemporary Artist, Group of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Damascus Dawn exemplifies the diversity that is found in the kingdom of God. They come from various ethnic backgrounds, different denominations,
and even varying musical backgrounds. It is this diversity that gives their music its unique flavor--Contemporary, with a little bit of folk, rock, funk,
and even reggae. They have appeared in various coffee houses and churches around the Kansas City area and have also been heard on Independent
radio stations worldwide.
The message they hope to spread with their music is that God loves the outcast, the rejected, the orphan. Says lead singer/acoustic guitarist Michelle Scott Redmon, "Even if the whole world throws you away, He will be there."
